Darker My Love

Darker My Love is not a new band.  They are based out of Los Angeles and released their records through Dangerbird in Silverlake.  Here are 2 tracks from their 2008 release "2" that I find to be timeless.  If you enjoy this, check out Dangerbird's website, some of their other label artists include Silversun Pickups and Minus The Bear, and Definitely pick up a hard copy of "2"!

Field Report

Field Report is a brand new project by Chris Porterfield that made it's debut appearance at SXSW last week.  Porterfield got his musical start in a band with Justin Vernon, front man to Bon Iver.  As Bon Iver continues to gain hype and create beautiful music, Porterfield has been in the background writing and developing Field Report.  Finally, his debut album was recorded in Justin Vernon's studio this past winter and is going through the mastering process.  Although the album is not finished and still unreleased, it has already gained a lot of attention and praise from many people, including Adam Duritz from Counting Crows.  Here are two unmastered tracks to preview Field Report's debut album posted only 1 day ago by Porterfield himself, show him some love!

ASOT 550 Beyond Wonderland

For those of you who missed it, Beyond Wonderland was this past weekend courtesy of Insomniac and ASOT550.  Arty played the main stage later on in the evening and absolutely killed it, followed by Gareth Emery and closing it with Armin Van Buuren.  Luckily, the sets were recorded and broadcasted live, here they for your enjoyment... Up until now I know that my blog has been all electronica and hip hop...this is not my intention at all, but lets face it: in todays scene, that is the majority of new music that is coming out everyday.  But to remind us of our roots and give us a breath of fresh air, here is a band from Sweden by the name of You Say France & I Whistle.  With a mixture of Sonic Youth instrumentals and a vocal line much in congruence  with The Killers, this track will be in your head for days.. Long Live the soft spot in all our hearts for Rock!!
